BTCCSquare news:

Former BitMEX CEO Arthur Hayes has acquired 19,227 HYPE tokens worth approximately $499,000, marking his return to the asset after a three-month absence. On-chain data confirms the Wednesday purchase, which follows Hayes' complete divestment of 96,628 HYPE ($5.1 million) in September 2025—a MOVE that netted him $823,000 in profits.

The September sale, which Hayes attributed to portfolio rebalancing and a Ferrari purchase, drew criticism from traders alleging market manipulation. Hayes dismissed these claims, citing internal risk management considerations at his firm Maelstrom. His August 2025 prediction at the WebX Summit that HYPE could appreciate 126x by 2028 remains active, with the investor comparing Hyperliquid's potential to Binance's market dominance.

Hayes' 2025 crypto portfolio reportedly closed the year with positive performance, particularly in liquid directional trades. The latest acquisition signals renewed confidence in HYPE's long-term trajectory despite previous profit-taking.
